‘I chose CNM because of their recognition’
I heard lots of great comments about the course and it was this particular Natural Chef Diploma that made me very interested.
I think I have always loved food from very early on when I was little. Then after, I was not so much into a healthy lifestyle for a long time. I grew up in France with cooking involving butter, sugar and these kinds of things. But [the interest in healthy food] came when I was pregnant with my first son. During my pregnancy I started to search a bit more, started being more interested. I studied gemology, so I worked in the diamond and jewellery business for 10 years.
After my maternity leave when I came back to my work I was not sure that I wanted to do that anymore, so I came back [to work] sort of part time and studied nutrition on the side. I think I chose CNM because of their recognition…I heard lots of great comments about the course and it was this particular Natural Chef Diploma that made me very interested. I was very happy about the course, about the way it was done, and about the lecturers.
Also it allows for people who are working and have a family life to work around it which is nice. It is not full time so you can make a way around it and make it work for you. I think I’ve always wanted to have my own business but after all it is always a question of timing. When I was studying at CNM there were loads of business lecturers that were very interesting. There was a lecture with Kimberly Parsons that was very helpful, also to learn about the journey of Renee Elliot, the founder of Planet Organic, helped me try to find a way. At some point you just need to go for it and that’s what I did.”
