Celebrating Food, Love & Community as a Natural Chef

Being a Natural Chef is about more than cooking – it’s about showing love. Food brings people together and connects hearts. For me, it’s a way to care, heal, and share joy through every fresh, thoughtful dish.

From as early as I can remember, food has been at the heart of my life. My mum loved hosting dinner parties, and I grew up surrounded by friends and family sharing cuisine from all over the world. From oysters to sardines, I was tasting everything and discovering foods I’d never imagined. Those evenings weren’t just about the food – they were about connection, storytelling, and celebration. I’ve always had an adventurous palate, but more than that, I’ve always loved the way food brings people together. For me, cooking isn’t just about nourishment – it’s a way of expressing love, creating shared experiences, and making memories that last.

Last year, I spent six months travelling solo around South America. For much of that time, I didn’t have access to a kitchen. I realised just how much I missed the act of cooking, of creating meals with intention and care. When I finally arrived in Costa Rica and could cook again with fresh, beautiful ingredients, I felt pure joy. That’s when I knew: food wasn’t just something I loved, it was a path I wanted to follow professionally.

Alongside this, I’ve always been fascinated by health, nutrition, and wellbeing. I wanted to understand how food can be both incredibly delicious and deeply nourishing. This curiosity led me to explore how ingredients can support our health, our energy, and our overall sense of wellbeing.

Why the CNM Natural Chef Diploma?

What drew me to CNM London’s Natural Chef Diploma was the unique way it combines professional cooking skills with the principles of naturopathic nutrition. I didn’t just want to learn how to cook – I wanted to understand how food affects the body, and how the meals I create could truly support health.

One of the things I love most about the course is learning how to make dishes that are both nutritionally balanced and full of flavour. Too often, ‘healthy food’ is seen as restrictive or bland, but at CNM, I discovered that nourishing food can be vibrant, exciting, and deeply satisfying.

The course’s emphasis on whole foods, seasonal ingredients, and conscious cooking has been hugely inspiring. I’ve learned how to adapt traditional recipes, so they are more nutritionally supportive without losing their essence. And the community at CNM – learning from lecturers who are genuinely passionate about food as a tool for health and healing – has made the experience even more rewarding.

What is a Natural Chef? Food, Love, and Community

Being a Natural Chef, to me, is about more than just preparing meals. It’s about cooking with intention, care, and awareness. It’s understanding how ingredients nourish the body while creating dishes that bring joy, flavour, and connection.

A Natural Chef sees food not just as something to eat, but as a way to support health, energy, and wellbeing. It’s about choosing whole, high-quality ingredients and preparing them in ways that maximise their nutritional value. Most importantly, it’s about using food as a tool for care and connection. Food is a healer, a love language, and a way to build community. For me, being a Natural Chef is using food as a really beautiful way of expressing love and care. Using fresh, whole ingredients is just an extra added layer of showing that love and compassion.

If you’ve ever felt drawn to food, health, or nutrition, I encourage you to explore the Natural Chef Diploma for yourself. The journey is transformative, empowering, and full of joy.
