Spiced Pumpkin Hummus

Creamy, dreamy and packed full of iconic fall flavours, this savoury spiced pumpkin hummus recipe comes together in minutes!’ The flavours in this recipe are warming to the circulatory and digestive system.

  • 250 g Cooked Organic Chickpeas
  • ½ small raw pumpkin Around 300g
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 tsp sea salt or to taste
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp ground cayenne pepper


  • Peel, deseed & cut the pumpkin into 3cm chunks. Place it in a colander over boiling water and steam for 30 minutes or until you can put a knife easily through it. Let it cool.
  • Place all the ingredients into a high-powered blender (a food processor) and blend until smooth.
  • Check the seasoning. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish, garnish with a sprinkle of paprika, pumpkin seed and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and enjoy with crudities or homemade crackers.
  • Enjoy immediately or properly store in an airtight container in your refrigerator and enjoy within 3 to 4 days.
